Myers Briggs is a well-know personality indicator whereby 16 personality types are identified. These types are categorized using a four letter system. If you’re not familiar with the theory pop along here.
The hardest part of gifting someone based on their Myers Briggs type is that you’d have to know what that was before you started! If your friend doesn’t already know their personality type based on this familiar rating scale will they welcome you forwarding them a test to find out? I guess that would depend on their personality type! 🙂
I’d REALLY like your help in finding out if it is possible to gift based on these personality types. The only way to do that is for YOU to take the test – found here. When you have your four letter type, let me know what is in comments. I’ll check out the meaning of that ‘type’ and try to GUESS a few great gift ideas and you then let me know if I’ve made a good guess or fell far wide of the mark. Are you up for the challenge?
Meanwhile I just took test and I got INFJ which I am guessing is very different to what it would have been a few years ago as I feel I have changed over the years.
So using myself as a Guinea Pig let’s see what I ‘should like’ based on the what the personality type dictates I would like.
INFJ – According to THIS analysis of my type I am ‘The Advocate’.
“The INFJ personality type is very rare, making up less than one percent of the population, but they nonetheless leave their mark on the world. As Diplomats (NF), they have an inborn sense of idealism and morality, but what sets them apart is the accompanying Judging (J) trait – INFJs are not idle dreamers, but people capable of taking concrete steps to realize their goals and make a lasting positive impact.”
Well it’s nice to know I’m rare! 🙂
“INFJs indeed share a very unique combination of traits: though soft-spoken, they have very strong opinions and will fight tirelessly for an idea they believe in. They are decisive and strong-willed, but will rarely use that energy for personal gain – INFJs will act with creativity, imagination, conviction and sensitivity not to create advantage, but to create balance. Egalitarianism and karma are very attractive ideas to INFJs, and they tend to believe that nothing would help the world so much as using love and compassion to soften the hearts of tyrants.”
I’d agree with the above. So far so good.
So what could I gleam from the whole interpretation about my gift preferences? Hmmm
Please take the test and write a few words re your favored gift types.
